Turn Your Frown Upside Down!

Had to sit down quickly and write this blog.

I found myself trapped in a cage of worry in my head--yes, it happens to The Thought Dr. too.  Even with all my mental training, there are times when I repeat old patterns and this morning was one of those times.

God has a wonderful sense of humor!  My children had on a Mickey Mouse cartoon.  As I was getting ready I was listening to the words the characters were speaking.

I heard Mickey Mouse say, "If you look at things from different perspectives, things look different."  Mickey was searching for a clue from the ground but couldn't find the answer.  So, he grabbed some helium balloons and floated up to the sky and from that vantage point, he found the answer he needed!

Then, his friend Goofy came along. He was on a  bike but riding from an upside-down perspective.  He sang, "Turn your frown upside down and smile..."  Yes, he made me grin.  It broke me out of my head.  Goofy's words brought me out of my churning mind into a child-like smile.

So, join me today.  Let's take a handful of balloons and go higher. From our new vantage point, we can see what we have been missing.

Then, let's turn upside down if needed and smile.  With this joyful, happy energy, the world seems brighter!  We do not need to be worry warts, stuck in cages of fear.  We can break out of our minds and feel the freshness of this new day.  In doing so, all the answers and clues we need are there to be found.

Sending love.

Wake Up to Life --Today

Got the BB message--Dana air crash in Lagos...all feared dead.

I was with my children.  I knew my husband was safe and had not flown today.  I said a prayer for peace and comfort.

I took perspective all day.  Too often we take for granted the normalcy of life.  We see people and expect to see them again.  We have a day of safety and security but take no notice.  We move our bodies freely as we walk through a sunny day but lose ourselves in the clouds of our fearful mind.

What will it take to wake you up to today?  It needn't be a tragedy.

Wake up.
Savor life.
Enjoy the moment you are in.
Tomorrow will take care of itself.

Relish the goodness of life as you know it right now.
There are always blessings to be found.

I spent the day looking into my children's eyes.  I hugged them, laughed with them, enjoyed them fully.

Life has been teaching me the past few months to just live in the moment.  As I just stay present to what Life offers me, I find deep peace.  Yes, even joy emerges to new levels within me as I just unwrap the gifts that God has offered me now.

The past is past.  The future will be there when I meet it.  But, this very moment is an open door to exquisite treasures.

Let us live with a heart open wide and eyes that can see the beauty of life today.

May God comfort the families who have lost so much today.

With my love,
