Harness Your Power: Revamp your morning and evening routines!

This week I will keep it simple and practical.  In working with my life coaching clients I have noticed that many have formed morning and evening routines that often aren't supportive of well-being.

When you wake up in the morning, what is the first thing that you do?  Do you turn on the TV, radio or computer?  Do you open the newspaper or Internet news and start getting "caught up"?  What do you think about first thing?

Most of us get the day started by filling our mind with fearful, negative media content.  Or, we start the day worried about what is ahead of us.  Then, by the time we get in the car on our way to work, we already feel drained or even depressed.

There are other great morning routines you could design for yourself.  I'd recommend adding a few minutes of gratitude and deep breathing even before you get out of bed.  In the shower and as you get dressed, be mindful of the amazing body you have.  Experience the water, the smell of the soap, the various beauty products you use.  The morning routine is full of sensation and you could actually enjoy every moment of it if you were more aware.

Now, review your evening routine.  Do you fall asleep every night with the TV and the lights on?  Do you watch endless hours of reality TV or political news?  Just notice what you do without judgment.  See if there might be a happier, more peaceful way to close the day.  Could you make a list of your blessings?  Maybe a great book would relax your mind and open your heart.  Some soft classical music might soothe your spirit.  There are so many new possibilities to consider as you make the end of your day something that opens the door to restful sleep.

You have power to create positive, supportive daily routines.
How might you change yours up?

Keep in mind how short life is.  Just today I was talking to a friend.  Her co-worker was diagnosed with a brain tumor.  There were no warning signs.  And, he may not have long to live.  Enjoy today.  Cherish your time with family and friends.  Value the health you have.

With great love for you,

Harness Your Power: Keep Your Focus

I have been reminded this week through my own life experience and watching people arond me that we have more power and choice in our destiny than we realize.

It is essential to clarify what we want to experience in all aspects of life (spiritual, relational, financial, professional, physical well-being etc.)  When we lack clarity we spin in circles and go on rabbit trails.  We allow whatever life presents to us to become our focus rather than consciously choosing our direction.

Each of us is constantly bombarded with a myriad of people, places and opportunities.  Those with clear vision maximize life by walking with their eyes open and seizing the empowered, positive possibilities presented.  Those without clear vision often (consciously or unconsciously) accept negative, self-defeating possibilities and become derailed.

Here is a specific example.  I know a young person who has issues with drug use.  God has placed in his life positive people who want to help him to his goals.  Yet also on his life path are those who still partake and offer him drugs.  When focused on his vision of being drug free, he is able to avoid those people and / or be clear in stating he is not interested in engaging in drugs.  When he is not clear, he spends time with people who are doing drugs and gets sucked into his old habits.

What do you want?  What are you focused on?  Are you allowing yourself to unconsciously spin in old patterns?  Are you ready to break free and move swiftly to what your heart desires?

Take time this week to write down a clear statement of what you desire to experience in life in the next three months.

Keep your list in front of you.  Read it every day.

Then, as people, places and possibilities come your way, evaluate whether or not they support you in reaching your vision.

If they don't, then make conscious choices to use your energy powerfully and purposefully instead.

I'm doing this with you!  I'm actively focusing my energy and staying distraction free:)

It is a daily choice to do so.

With Love

Harness Your Power: You are Provided For

I just had to share some of the amazing, synchronistic provisions I have been experiencing the last few weeks.  To start, I had been wanting to have a birthday party for my daughter, Skye, who turns 5 soon.  I went to pick her up at school and another mother told me she was just about to hand out the invitations for her son's birthday party.  We were talking about the expense of birthday parties and I said, "What would you think of doing a joint party and splitting the costs since they have the same classmates."  She replied, "That is a great idea!"

So, with virtually no planning on my part, Skye is having a birthday party next Saturday with all her friends.  And, since we are splitting the costs, neither of us are spending much money!  Amazing.  I just chuckle in wonder at how God aligns my path even on these seemingly small life details.

Then, just today, I was out doing some shopping and I ran into a lady who I knew from my daughter's school.  We got to talking and she started telling me about what she does for work.  She works at a family center in our area and supports young mothers in learning how to help their children learn in the first few years of life.  It just so happened that I needed to meet a person like this so I could introduce her to a young mom I know who needs this EXACT type of support.  Again, no planning on my part.  I was just walking my path, open to the possibilities and the right people appeared!

It is just incredible to notice the countless ways in which we are provided for.  I am so grateful, so full of joy and peace because of all this evidence of how well I am cared for by the Universe.

Are you noticing all the blessings?  Are you celebrating the "coincidences" and synchronicities occuring in your life?  Pay attention -- you are probably having more of these than you are even aware of.

I send each of you love this week.
I'm here to support you in reaching your full potential and in feeling well.

Harness Your Power: Clarity then Permission

This week I've been reminded of the importance of being clear on what we really want to create with our lives. We must take the time to clarify every aspect of what we want our life experience to be like: relationships, career, personal life, health, and finances. We also need to be able to answer the following two questions: Who am I? and What do I want?

Have you taken the time to detail your answers? If not, I suggest you take the time this week. If you don't, then please don't complain that things aren't happening the way you want them to. You are a powerful creator of your life experience. You are creating consciously or unconsciously. Most people don't give much thought to what they want and then feel like victims -- why is my life turning out this way? When all they need to do is take some time to dig deep in their heart and decide what they want.

Here are some questions to get you going:

What do you want to feel each day? Are you ready for increased amounts of peace, joy, hope and happiness?

If you could experience ANYTHING that you wanted in your life as you enter 2009, what would it be? What would your daily life experience look like and feel like?

If you are experiencing difficulty in your close relationships, how would you like to see the dynamics change?

Life is a constant clarification process. I've learned that sometimes I think I want one thing but once I experience it, I get clear that it really wasn't exactly what I wanted. What is beautiful is that we aren't stuck with what we create. We can create something new based upon our new clarity. It takes focus and awareness and courage to do this, but anything, literally anything and everything is possible!

I have clients who are clear on what they want to experience in life. But then they get stuck. Two common issues I have seen are: first, they don't really think it's okay to be happy and second, they don't give themselves permission to move forward.

So, if you know what you want but you find yourself stuck, answer these two questions:

Do you really believe it is okay for you to be happy?

Do you give yourself permission to create what you want?

Go deep with these questions. Let out your deepest truth. If you begin to write and meditate on this, your answers will emerge in ways you never expected.

If I can support you in getting clear or on taking your daily baby steps to create what you want, drop me an email at thoughtdr@patriciaomoqui.com

I have a few spots open for new clients. If you are ready to speedily and steadily move towards what you want, I would be honored to support you.

Anything you want is possible. Will you allow yourself to get clear and create the life you want?

A big hug and much love to you all,

Patricia Omoqui

Harness Your Power: Focus on Love

In thinking about this weekly blog, I considered writing a traditional Thanksgiving blog, reminding each of us to be truly thankful for the blessings in our lives. Of course, I will remind you: let's all join together in counting our blessings and focusing our hearts in gratitude! But, I'd like instead to suggest that this week we focus on seeing others through eyes of love rather than through eyes of judgment.

Big family gatherings can be challenging. We join together with relatives who are experts at pushing our buttons. Old conflicts arise, putting a negative, cloudy energy in the air that everyone perceives but nobody talks about. It feels uncomfortable. Yet we pretend and put on a smile. We try to be cordial.

I'd like to suggest a new approach this year. Before you go to your family celebration, take a few moments to sit down and open your heart. Get a pen and a piece of paper. Begin by making a list of all the people you will be encountering (if it is a big gathering, just list the people who you are not comfortable being around.) Now, begin to write down any and every positive thing you can find about this person. For just a moment, move beyond your judgment and open to a bigger perspective.

If you feel stuck on trying to find positives, then say a brief prayer -- "Spirit, please help me to see this person from a new perspective. Open my eyes in an expanded way and help me to move beyond judgment and see any spark of light this person has within."

These questions might also help you in thinking about the person: Have you seen this person offer kindness to someone in the past? Are they talented? Do they intend to be loving but just never come across that way? (Give them credit for the attempts they make.) Are they full of good humor and jokes? Even though they often may judge you, is it really because of their fearful beliefs that are motivated from a deep love for you? Might it be that their mannerisms, though they annoy you, are merely what they learned growing up?

The whole point of this exercise is to focus on the light, the love you can perceive -- no matter how small it appears to you. When you focus on the light, it grows! When you focus on the light, you change. When you focus on the light, your perceptions shift. The old ideas that you felt you couldn't let go of, are able to transform.

If we desire World peace, the peace must start from our own small circles of friends and family. We may not be able to change the people who offend, ignore, or annoy us. We can change the way we view them. We can release our judgments; we can open to love.

Prepare yourself for these challenging interactions. You could even carry this paper of loving qualities with you to the gathering. Keep it in your pocket or your purse -- so if you find yourself moving into the old patterns of judgment, go to the bathroom, re-read it. Breathe and allow love to fill you again.

Ask Spirit to assist you in approaching these interactions in a new way. Ask for miraculous healing to occur in relationships that have been broken and stuck in conflict for years. It is all possible -- IF we are willing to open our hearts to new possibilities.

Have a blessed Thanksgiving. For those of you in other parts of the World, use this exercise in the same way -- make a list of the people who annoy, bug and upset you in your daily life. Open to making the same types of shifts in these relationships. No special family gatherings are needed to experience this growth.

On one other note, I want to say to each of you how thankful I am to interact with you via this blog. It is an honor to share these ideas from my heart. I offer each of you love because I know that you are pure love in your essence. You are, we all are, aspects of Source Energy in human form. We are more similar than different. Are struggles are common ones and as we join together and learn, we begin to see how beautiful we are in facing our daily challenges in our life experience.

I close with a few affirmations to support you in your interactions:

I open to seeing the love and light in my friends and family.

I open to seeing more love and light within myself.

We are all in this together.

I move beyond the conflicts and see others from Spirit's perspective.

I notice the beauty in every human being.

I see them with compassion and empathy.

I realize that their words and actions are not personal to me.

I assume that they, and I, are capable of healing our conflicts and joining together in love.

I am an ambassador of peace.

My work begins in my circle of friends and family.

The peace that starts in my heart spreads to everyone in my life.

It moves around the globe and impacts World peace.

I see my power.

I see new possibilities in my life.

I give thanks for all that I am, all that I have, and all that I am becoming.

In love, knowing the beauty of each person who is reading this blog,

Patricia Omoqui

Harness Your Power: Let Go of What No Longer Suits You

I am going to ask you to ponder something very simple. Is there something, someone or some situation that you are holding onto because you are afraid of letting it go? Do you feel intuitively that it may be time for a change but find yourself holding back from moving towards it?

Take time this week to consider why you are afraid. Look at the fear. Look at the beliefs that hold you where you are.

I'm learning that I often tolerate situations even though I know I am capable of experiencing and creating something that can bring me greater happiness. My fear of letting go of what I'm used to is capable of keeping me from moving into the possibilities of something even better.

Just remember that beyond the storms of change comes a rainbow, a peace and a calm... and often brings brilliant possibilities.

Are you ready for taking your life to a whole new level of joy? If so, take a close look at what you are still holding onto that may no longer match where you are headed.

I'm learning these lessons right now at a very deep, personal level. As hard as it is to let go and choose to surrender to the miraculous newness the Universe can provide, it is worth it.

My desire is to expand myself and open to greater levels of inner peace, unconditional love and brilliant joy. To do so, I have found, means that I must let go of the old patterns and energy to make space for the new. In this grand adventure of life why would we choose to stay stuck and suffer? There is too much too experience and enjoy...so, let go of the old... you can do it!

With great love for you,

Patricia Omoqui

Harness Your Power: Self-Belief

Since it was rainy here in Philadelphia on the Fourth of July, we took the kids to a movie called Kung Fu Panda. It was a cute, animated flick. There were two ideas in the movie that got me thinking. (They always seem to plant some interesting ideas in kid's movies for the parents.)

The Kung Fu master in the movie was an old turtle. In several situations he said, "There are no accidents in the Universe." The other characters he said this to struggled with this idea -- fighting to show that this could not be possible-- that something was wrong that this big, chubby panda was chosen to receive the Dragon Scrolls.

This got me thinking about myself. While, in my mind, I completely agree with the turtle. I see my heart often struggle with the circumstances in my life. In retrospect, I can always see that the Universe was interweaving and unfolding my path in the most remarkable way. Yet sitting in the challenges and the dark nights in my life, I sit and question -- resisting what is going on, exhausting myself.

Wouldn't we be able to relax more about our lives if we believed that everything was in perfect order in the Universe. I am giving myself the assignment this week to understand this more clearly. How different would I feel if I was able to fully embrace this idea? How much energy might I conserve if I stopped resisting people and situations in my life? Would I go about my life differently?

The other idea that I loved in the movie was centered around the importance of self-belief. The seemingly clumsy Panda expected the Dragon Scroll they awarded him to give him a secret to tap into unlimited potential. When he opened the scroll, it was blank! How could this be? Did the words get erased over the 1,000 years the scroll was waiting to be opened. Or, was there a hidden message?

The Panda felt hopeless, like it was impossible for him to rise up to be the one to save the village. How could he, a lumpy, chunky, clumsy Panda be capable of heroic acts? As he was about to face the evil foe, he looked at the scroll and saw his own reflection. He realized that the key to it all was knowing that he was special, that he must believe in himself. As he did this, magical things happened. He tapped into deep strength, undying courage and rose to the occasion.

Isn't it interesting that so often you can have two people with equal abilities yet one attains greater success and notoriety than the other? What is the difference? What is the "it" factor that they talk about? The key to making magic in life is self-belief.

Many of us think we believe in ourselves. But we find that during life's challenges we start to question our capabilities. We doubt. We begin to limit our possibilities. What if we were able to maintain our self-belief more of the time? If we did, miraculous magic would be unleashed -- sparkling, shining and causing us to question why we didn't just believe in the first place.

I challenge us to take a look at the level of self-belief we are experiencing. Take the time to write down ways in which you continue to question your abilities. Are there negative thoughts and self-talk that you notice this week? If so, commit it to paper. As you see these self-imposed limits, you have the opportunity to transform them one thought at a time.

Inspired by Kung Fu Panda,

Patricia Omoqui
