What IF Everything is Truly On Schedule?

Had to share again today.  I guess once I finally opened my writing gates again, the flow of inspiration was ready to rush through.

Perhaps you can relate to the feeling of:  "I'm trying so hard to actualize my dreams, to achieve this next phase of success and impact but it just isn't materializing like it is supposed to!"

We've been taught to constantly judge ourselves and our lives.  We have been taught that if we put a plan in place and it doesn't all happen in the way we want nor on the time frame we had established, then something is terribly wrong.  Even worse, we personalize this and may begin to think:  Something is wrong with ME.

Today I share some thoughts in hopes that our perspectives may be stretched a bit.

Here it goes:

There is an adjustment period now--an in-between space between where you had been and where you will eventually be with your manifestations.  Be joyful for this time!  It is a time of gradual preparation.  It takes time to allow new beliefs, fresh ideas and seeds of potential to take root and begin to grow.

What's the rush anyhow??

Impatience is merely another form of fear.  Impatience is a type of judgment that says, "My path isn't unfolding fast enough for my liking so there must be something wrong!"

What if there is a Higher Plan at work here?  What if there is perfection in this moment?  What if every stage on life's journey is filled with incredible depth and beauty?  What if the Divine plan is impeccably designed for the highest good of you AND the entire planet?

Remember:

You would never want a baby to be born pre-mature.
You wouldn't want to eat a half-baked cake or sit down to a half-cooked meal.
You wouldn't want to go out onto a big stage only to be half-prepared.

Perhaps the opportunity each of us has today is to RELAX AND TRUST.  What if we could OPEN to the current circumstances with curiosity rather than judgment?  What if we were simply willing to LIVE FULLY IN TODAY NO MATTER HOW THINGS APPEAR -- looking for the good and trusting the path?

Imagine knowing beyond a shadow of a doubt that your life is truly on schedule.  Imagine interpreting every situation--no matter how good or bad it appears to the World around you as the EXACT set of circumstances here to prepare and mold and grow you so that you can most fully serve the unique purpose for which you are here on the planet?

Breathe. Yep, take a really deep breath today.  In fact, celebrate--even laugh a bit--be glad if it all looks messy.  Be thankful if it is all falling apart around you.  Sometimes the breaking down and tearing apart is what we need so that we can be reconfigured into the proper configuration for our purpose.

And, the best part of it all--even in the stage you are in you can be living and experiencing and serving your purpose (see my last blog post).

Consider these guiding thoughts for today:  It is more well with me than I realize.  My life is on schedule.  I open to the learning here for me today.

With all my love...and with humility as we journey together,

Potential & Purpose are NOW Events....Not Future...Not Distant!

It's been a long while since I shared a blog.  My sense is I experienced some "writer's fatigue" and needed to retreat for a time.  During this blog vacation, I've received tremendous insights and God has been deepening me, working on transforming my thoughts and helping me to become a more peaceful version of myself.

Each morning I sit with my journal and ask for Divine insights.  I was compelled to share with you the words that flowed to me via this post.

Below is the direct message that came to and through me this morning.

Why would the circumstances and outer packaging of our lives be all that important if we are living our deeper purpose in the here and now?

Our purpose isn't about the outer packaging.  It is about the heart.  It is about being a unique expression of God's love.  When we connect to this deeper calling on our lives, God uses our potential--and can maximize it fully in the here and now.

The trap we too often fall into is to judge that "our potential is in the future" because it has not configured in the spectacular dreams and visions we desire.

What if living potential is a PRESENT MOMENT choice.  Our potential can be most fully activitated when we release our focus on the external, on the future and we more fully open to where we are right now.  God's love flows within us NOW.  God's power to touch the world through us is available RIGHT NOW.  The outer circumstances we are currently experiencing are a perfect design for how God can use us as agents of light, compassion, hope and grace RIGHT NOW.

Affirmations:

My potential is now.
My life is now.
My ability to share God's love is now.
My unique purpose is now.
God's love flows in and through me now.
I trust the divine plan on my life.

As we relax into living our potential now, the future pieces of life and the specially designed journey God has for us can't help but manifest in the highest form God has for us.

This common mental trap we fall into is called:  Postponed Purpose Syndrome:  Thinking that my purpose and potential are somewhere in the future.  Therefore, I postpone my action or feel my potential is limited or can't be fully activated until my outer circumstances change.

Consider the below questions.  I'd suggest you write the questions down on a piece of paper and then say a prayer.  Ask for God to speak to you in this moment and give you guidance, awareness and illumination for your path.  Say a prayer.  Quiet your thinking mind.  Then, write down the answers that flow to you:

How can I begin to open, relax and allow the fullness of God's love to activate the grid of my NOW Potential TODAY?

How can I  begin to joyfully serve where I am, with my current resources, to the people put on my path today?

How would my life feel if I chose to take this approach?

Friends, our egos wants us to believe that we are living for some future desired state--mostly to do with wealth, titles and grandeur.  Yet, the truth is:  All that we truly have is the present moment. When we open to the here and now, the Divine Grace all around us begins to glow.  We begin to see our lives from a totally difference perspective.

My current life circumstances don't match the ideal dreams and visions I have.  But, they are exactly the circumstances needed for my highest good and for God to use my life now.

What if we all chose to live our purpose in the moment?

I sense some incredible, miraculous waves of love would sweep across this planet today.

With all my love,

A Call to Shine Our Light...Yes, as many of the 7 Billion of us as Possible!

Clearly, we can see the World is hurting all around us.  Yes, pain in Paris...slaughter of lives in Syria, Nigeria, Palestine, Iraq...even here locally in a town near where I live another gun death happened to someone close to my friend just a few days ago.

Where is there hurt?  Everywhere...everywhere...everywhere....

This blog is a call to Shine your beautiful light.  Yes, let that spark of love in your heart that yearns to express come forth here and now!

Each of us has the capacity to be compassionate, thoughtful, and find opportunities to lift another being with our love.  It doesn't take a major act...just small, considerate acts...one after another in community after community...to activate and encourage love and light to come forth around the world.

Recently I was guided to share some of my resources with a friend who was struggling.  I slipped a small gift into her purse without her knowing it.  That token of love allowed her to then get to an event that was important to her.  And, on her way, she ran into people at a gas station and shared an uplifting conversation with humor and smiles.  She went on to the event and shared even more of her heart with those she encountered.  From taking that small bit of action on my intuition, her light, activated other lights.

Light and love can spread, can multiply--it can grow exponentially!

What small act of kindness do you know you are ready to follow through on?
Who is that person that keeps coming to your mind that you know you need to reach out to?
What positive word can you offer the stranger in your path?
What friend needs a listening ear?
What things do you have that aren't getting used that another person nearby may need and enjoy?

In an age where the media amplifies our focus on the atrocities that occur, we have a choice!  Will we discuss those stories in fear and get depressed, worried, even terrified?  Or, will we decide that as Earth Angels, full of goodness, we will step up our call to love on a whole new level?

May God guide and direct your steps this week as you open your heart, share your light and offer the World acts of goodness.

Together, we 7 billion can do brilliant things--we are far more powerful collectively than we yet realize.

With my heartfelt care for you,

Patricia Omoqui, The Thought Dr.

Why not try RELAXING...

What if we spent a little less time worrying and working ourselves to the bone and a bit more time, relaxing, unwinding and resting in God each day?

Having a sweet 1 year old baby girl named Sage gives me the perfect visual of this.  She is by nature a very snugly baby.  She loves to be held and sit close to her father, sisters and me.  In those special moments, it is as if she melts into me, her head against my shoulder, her heart against my heart—it is as if our hearts are beating as one and our energies are joined together.

She is comfortable, relaxed to the point of falling asleep.  Her sweet coos and sighs and breaths show how relaxed she is in that moment.  She is not struggling to be anywhere else but where she is.  She is content to simply be in the comfort of loving arms.

In the past few weeks as I was preparing to speak to a group here locally in Pennsylvania.  I was guided to share on the topic of Relaxing into God.  I came across a text where a devoted South African nun, Francis Banks, described that she can now see that it was the tenseness of her striving that was actually keeping her from experiencing the presence of Spirit in her life.  That Presence had always surrounded her—but she hadn't recognized it because of the level of stress she put herself under.  She had been living with the idea that she had to constantly DO something to experience God.

As she looks back on her life, she recounts:

“I was lost in illusion; lost in glamour.  I looked for the Spirit to reveal itself to me, when all that was necessary was ‘relaxation unto God.’ The Spirit was always with me, veiled because my physical sight could not view it.  The great secret of finding that Spirit was ‘letting go’ of self. . . I am realizing that the very tenseness of my striving was my undoing and it barred the way to that very union which my soul longed. . . Light, Divinity, Reality. . . all-pervading consciousness…was there for my acceptance.  Much greater progress would have been made by ‘letting go’ of all these human images and by allowing the spirit to absorb me.  Relax and allow the Spirit to stream through you.  Swim with the tide of the Spirit.” (from Testimony of Light)

This description resonated deeply with me.  For many years I lived from a state of being ultra-responsible, working myself to the bone, achieving the highest accolades possible and driving my body to the point of exhaustion.  Yes, I was a Christian and I loved God deeply.  But there was something I hadn’t known about a spiritual practice – a simple call in the Bible to “Be still and know that I am God.” And, “In God we live and breathe and have our being.”

It’s only been the past 10 years where I have begun to sit in silence and listen.  I’ve learned to quiet the restless mind.  I’ve woken up to the beauty of just BEING in the moment.  I’ve started to experience and understand that the quiet, silent practice of breathing and allowing the whispers of Spirit to refresh my spirit.  This new way of sitting and being is profound:  it has changed me, transformed my thinking and allowed me to deepen my faith and refresh myself.  I am learning more and more each day to RELAX INTO GOD.

My spirit longs for more of this relaxing…and the funny thing is that by taking the time to relax into God, I get the breakthrough ideas, the insights, the a-ha moments needed to fulfill my purpose in new ways.  It is the stepping back to rest that ends up speeding me forward!

What if life is easier than we typically make it on ourselves?

What if melting into the arms of our Heavenly Father can restore us and renew us in a way that allows more energy to flow through us to fuel our purpose?

What if the times of sitting silently in the Presence can lift us to new wisdom, fresh insights and a further discovery and expression of our gifts?

Our cultural promotes constant Doing as a symbol of importance.  It’s easy to buy into this mentality.  But we can see all around us and in our own lives how the constant DOING causes stress, physical disease and an erosion of our relationships.

Perhaps our opportunity now lies in beginning to experience, practice and gain expertise in BEING and RELAXING.

Why not this week plan some time into your schedule to BE, to RELAX yourself into God?    Even 5 minutes of deep breathing in the Presence each day may begin to renew you in a way you haven’t felt for many years.

May your week be full of new light, energy and an exuberance for your purpose!

My Worst Birthday Ever - You Won't Believe What Really Happened

Birthdays are usually full of excitement and celebration.  That wasn't how my 17th birthday was.  In fact, a better way to describe that particular day is deeply traumatic.

The birthday started as a happy day.  I had friends and some family members wish me Happy Birthday.  I had a nice dinner, a cake with candles and even received gifts.

Late in the day, however, I received a phone call from a person in my life, someone from my family of origin.  Normally a person this close and of this position in one's life is meant to offer good wishes and love.  Usually this type of family member wants the best for your life and would do anything to protect you and help you.

What I received instead was a death threat.  I was told clearly:  I will kill you.  I will come and shoot you if you do something that displeases me.   And, I will hurt some of the people close to you  as well.

Devastated teenage girl.  Heart shattered in a million pieces.  It was bad enough this person had chosen to opt out of my life a few years earlier.  These threats took the pain to an entirely different level.  And, because of the person's mental instability, the threats had to be taken seriously.  From that moment moving forward, the fear of this person following through on what he said was something that haunted my days and nights.

I turned to God, my Heavenly Father, during the years that followed.  I had surrendered and give my entire Being over to God as a child. And, I found comfort and solace in knowing that I was watched over, guided and protected by God's power and grace.

I spent time over the next ten years journaling, seeking counsel and comfort from the role models in my life.  I opened my heart to healing these deep wounds.  With time, I grew stronger from the difficulties and I knew that everything happened for my highest good --yes, even a death threat.

I felt I had healed most, if not all, from that time period in my life.  Until recently that is.

A few weeks ago I realized that I was holding back on part of my calling back because I was afraid that this person might still show up at a public event and harm me.  I didn't even realize that this underlying fear was still in operation in my subconscious.  But, once again, God's goodness brought me to the awareness of another layer of healing needed in order to more fully experience and live the calling for which I am made.

I've spent time the past few weeks recalling those days as a teen.  I've journaled and sketched my feelings.  I've found ways to face the fear.  I know more deeply than ever that I am protected--I live and breathe and have my being in the Atmospheric Presence of God's Grace, Love, Kindness and Protection.  My life is in the All-powerful hands of God.

Why do I share something so intimate with each of you?  Because on my 42nd birthday I want you to know that no matter what you've been through or what you are currently going through, there is purpose in it.  You can find healing.  You can find freedom.  You can find the gems of wisdom in each traumatic experience you've encountered on your journey.

As I look back I see, that a tremendous resilience and strength was developed in me because of the difficulty I experienced.  And, the level of compassion and empathy that I now have to offer people is due to the depth of pain I was immersed in for much of my childhood and teen years.

I am thankful, deeply grateful, for the richenss of these trials.  I am who I am because of all that I've experienced.

As I enter my 42nd year of life, my prayer is that God will continue to use me to love, to serve, to aid and help people in reaching their full potential in life.

What is it deep within you that is ready to come up for healing?  Open to it.  Seek support from those you can trust -- and from those who have the expertise to help you move through the pain to greater freedom and clarity.  You are an amazingly valuable person.  You are more resilient than you know.  You are being guided, helped and supported to break through to new levels of spiritual depth and wisdom.

May God encourage, uplift and heal your spirit today and always,

With love,

On Purposefully Slowing Down and Creating an Amazing Spring!

The air today is full of Spring hope.  Snow is melting as sun shines down.  I sense possibility.

I woke up bombarded by a daughter's request, "Mom, can I please go with a friend on a hike today."  From my sleeply blur I almost said Yes.  But as I thought through the day, I realized making that committment would mean removing time and space for our family to simply BE.

It is simply too easy to be out and about from day break to sunset.  I've fallen into that trap on a regular basis over the years.  And, when it happens I end up exhausted, drained emotionally and lacking a sense of joy.  Life becomes more of a pressure to get to the next activity and less of a spontaneous enjoyment of simple wonders.

After I got my coffee, I opened my journal and created a page called :  Clarity for Spring Schedule.  All day I have been sitting with the question, "How can I purposefully design a schedule for myself and my family this Spring that will allow us to be energetic, peaceful and joyful?"

I can't say that I have all my answers yet.  But, I am certain that I am asking the right question.  That's a good start-- because Divine guidance and ah-ha moments will arrive in due time.

In fact, only hours after posing the question I turned the TV on and heard some inspired thinking from author Pico Iyer as he was being interviewed.  I jotted a few quotes down:

"Making a great living is not the same as making a great life."

"Home is not where I lived but what lives inside me."

"Go to the inner health club."

"Turn off the noise and create space for hearing creative answers."

"Stillness brings sanity."

I smiled.  These truths were exactly what I needed to hear.  I'm sure God is chuckling as I wake up to these truths once again.  I felt a deep sense of confirmation from above as the Spirit whispered,

"Yes, Trish, SLOW DOWN.  SAVOR LIFE.  BE more and DO less.  Create a schedule that offers you and your family members well-being and connectedness.  Know what you want to experience and build a life that will allow you to create it.  You have more power to do this than you have yet tapped into."

Several hours have passed since these realizations.  I'm still smiling as I write. The day has been gentle--a time to journal, a walk with my daughter, some homemade food and time to write this blog.  I feel relaxed (rather than tense) and open to the flow of inspiration.  That's how I want my Spring to be.  Today I lived the energy which I wish to project into my schedule.

So, how about you?  What will your Spring look like?

Here are some interesting questions to ponder in the week ahead:

What are the outcomes you are after?
What is really important to you?
How do you want to feel every day?
What do you need to make space for?
What do you need to let go of that you may have outgrown?
How will you design your days and weeks so you get the outcomes you desire?

Hope you will join me in taking time to purposefully create your experience.  It's quite a fun adventure doing so.  I'd love to hear how it goes for you.  Please comment on the blog if you have ideas or drop me a note via my website or Facebook.  We are all in this together, dearest human brothers and sister;)

Thought I'd leave you with a throwback video I made a few years ago called Guiding Questions For Life's Journey: http://youtu.be/DskkAX-3-Ec .  Enjoy!

From High Anxiety and Stress to Peace...You Can Do It!

Last week a situation I was facing stirred up in me a vibration of anxiety that I had trouble shaking off.

In fact, one night I laid in my bed tossing and turning, struggling to find rest.  I'd pray and sleep a bit, then wake up with intense fear piercing my heart.

The requests for inner peace that I made to the Divine were heard.  When I woke up, I stayed in bed a few extra minutes.  This idea came to my mind:  visualize the stress of the past few days melting off yourself -- let it move off your body onto the ground beneath you.  Let the past days go.  Fully release.  Start fresh.

After about five minutes of doing this, I sensed my energy shift and I rose to meet the new day.

During the last few days I was guided to some helpful resources and ideas that enabled me to move from anxiety to peace.  I wanted to share these with you in case they could be of help.

1.  Do 24 hours at a time.  My husband reminded me -- just live for THIS day.  Just one moment at a time, one day at a time.  The past need not predict the present or future.  Instead, just BE and OPEN and allow the day to flow.

2.  Breathe, breathe, breathe.  When constricted and upset, just breathe for several minutes.  Allow there to be space for calm to re-enter.

3.  Try a guided visualization.  Here's one in particular I found helpful:  Guided Meditation for Anxiety Relief

4.  Be grateful.  Find every blessing in your life, big or small, to focus on.  Look for the good.  If you do, you will find it.

Hope these ideas are as helpful to you as they were to me!

I wish you a week of peace (even if you are in the midst of big challenges),
